ONESHOTS

Title: The Raxiclan Threat
Rating: PG

Summary: There's a spider in Rose's room onboard the TARDIS, and she wants the Doctor to take care of it.
Link: Reacting on instinct, he dashed toward Rose’s room and forcefully pulled the door open, his sonic screwdriver already in hand, ready for anything. He came to a dead halt when he laid eyes on Rose standing on the middle of her bed, hands on hips, glaring icily at the floor.

Summary: The Doctor and Rose encounter sporadic rain. And the Doctor loves sporadic rain.
Link: It was one of those in between times, a day without a planet or species that needed saving, when they weren’t fighting for their lives. It was a casual day of just being, seeing, exploring, learning. And it was these times that Rose liked best.

Summary: The impossible had become possible, much to the Doctor’s astonishment, and he was still trapped in a daze of disbelief. It felt like a dream, and he had to continuously remind himself that it wasn’t.
Link: Despite how long he had spent regretting the things he had never done, never said, and no matter how badly he wanted to now, he couldn’t bring himself to do any of it. And he hated himself for it


Title: Shelter
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Nine/Rose
Summary: They were both silent as he lead her back toward the flat. He didn’t ask any questions, although he had quite a few. None of it really mattered; what was important was that she was safe. Besides, he was clever enough to gather what had, and had not, happened.
Link: With eagerness and impatience to get things going, the Doctor circled the TARDIS console with a quick step, hands hurriedly flying over the controls. He shot an anxious glance at the doors; still not there yet. Time, she needed more time–had to re-pack and say goodbye to Jackie, both of which took a while.


Title: A Hand to Hold

Summary: The first time he had ever held her hand was in the basement of a shop, surrounded by living shopwindow dummies, and he had told her to run.
Link: When he takes her hand with his, his new, fresh, different hand, it feels the same as it always has–as if her hand belongs there, intertwined with his own.


Title: Whisper of Scarlet

Summary: His response comes in two words, a name, one that startles her and sends ice through her stomach. “Canary Wharf.” His voice is the softest of whispers, almost inaudible, as if the breeze has snatched it up and carried it away. “That’s where I lost her,” he adds, his eyes slowly falling shut.

Summary: How she had never noticed that freckle before was beyond her, but now that she knew about it, Rose could hardly keep her eyes off him.

Title: His Shadow

Summary: She finally understands now the Doctor’s horror of losing the TARDIS, of being handicapped to a single time, a single planet. It feels like being trapped, life and freedom ripped from her grasp. He’s changed her so much, and the simple life feels like a prison now.

Summary: Tearing open the shower curtain, she glared at him with piercing, angry eyes. "YOU SAID IT WAS HARMLESS!"

Title: Broken Teacup

Summary: The teacup was one of his last bits of Rose. Her favorite mug. A gift from him to her. A memento of a day he had spent with her—a real time, not some wish or fantasy. And now, it is lost to him. Slipped from his fingers and shattered across the floor.
Link: It isn’t Rose that she hates. Not really. What she so despises is the anguish she sees in the Doctor whenever he brings up his lost companion.


Title: Wishing for the Impossible
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Ten/Rose
Summary: Awed, frightened, he stood in place, watching as she struggled with her bag of groceries in one hand and an umbrella in the other. Her nose was red, and her hair was a bit damp and frizzly, but never had she looked more enticing and gorgeous, utterly adorable.
Link: This could have monumental consequences, but he didn’t care. He deserved to be selfish. Just this once.


Title: Butterfly Kisses

Pairing: Ten/Rose
Summary: The heavy quiet and watching him tear himself apart inside was just too much. She couldn’t let him do this to himself.
Link: It was the complete drowning look in his gaze that made her move, hastily tugging him forward into her arms, locking one arm around his waist and cradling his head with the other.


Title: Out of the Dark
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Doctor/Rose
Summary: He isn’t about to let himself think that, in her, he can see everything that he has lost in himself.
Link: He’s not ready, and she’s only a girl. Already, he can see such compassion and warmth and innocence in her, this Rose Tyler. He’s not about to destroy that.


Title: Quite Unoriginal
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Ten/Rose
Summary: It was when the film reached a ridiculously sappy scene that the Doctor opened his mouth, about to make a snarky comment. The words caught on his tongue as he realized speaking at all would most likely earn him a clobber from Rose.

He scooted in against her again, his knee bumping her thigh, and he dipped his head to run his nose along the length of her neck. “And isn’t this...” he stopped, short of breath, and tried again, “...enough for you?”


Title: The Universe Can Wait

Summary: From the moment he’d laid eyes on her, not once had they had the opportunity to be alone, the TARDIS crowded by too many familiar faces, all eager to help against the universal threat. So he’d taken the TARDIS into the Vortex, took Rose’s hand and quietly lead her here, a room of paradise, and made sure the door was locked. No interruptions.
Link: He could smell her distinct, intoxicating scent, could feel every breath she took as her stomach and breasts pushed gently into his side, and yet he still couldn’t quite believe that she was really here.


Title: Still Not Ginger

Summary: She certainly didn’t react this way the last time, and his last body had been rather smashing, if he did say so himself. And it hadn’t even been ginger.
Link: Rose Tyler was snogging him—right after he’d gone and changed his body, of which she’d been begging him not to do just moments ago.


Title: Building a New Forever

Summary: It kills him that she misses him so much and he’s standing right here.
Link: He looks so lonely and isolated and beautiful that it makes her breath catch. It makes her remember days past, a life lost. For both of them.

Summary: His mind took him back to an endless field of rainbow flowers, all shades of colors.
Link: It wasn’t until he was standing on the next street corner that he realized what he’d done.


Title: There was a Whisper in His Ear

Summary: His breath caught in his throat and as he stared at her, standing stunned across the hallway, he couldn’t understand what he’d ever been so afraid of.

Summary: He first catches a glimpse of it when they are sitting at a small white-cloth covered table in Paris, France.

Summary: His hand curls over the top of hers as he places it back in the proper position, his fingers threading around hers to guide her movements.
Link: His thumb graces the underside of her wrist, where he can surely feel the flutter of her heart.


Title: A Quid for a Five Pence Kiss (or Twenty)

Summary: Making up his mind, he stuffed his hands into his pockets, fingers searching for what he needed, as he strode over to where she stood.
Link: He withdrew his hand from his pocket, and pressed a crinkled quid into the palm of her hand just as he leaned in close.


Title: Of Sand, Saltwater, and Kisses

Pairing: Ten/Rose
Summary: Rose’s hair shines pale gold under the open sunshine, the wind whipping it about her frightened face.
Link: Her eyes search for his, so brown and innocent and scared and he abhors seeing her like this.


Title: TARDIS Blue

Characters: Ten, Donna
Summary: He stared at her intently, as if to convey this desperate and amazing message to her simply through his gaze. “There are entire worlds out there just waiting for us. We’re on one right now! Brand new and sparkling. And we’ve never seen it before.”
Link: The awe died away from his voice as he added, "And you’re in here painting your nails."


Title: Autumn Breeze and Vanilla Ice Cream

Summary: Her back bumped into his chest, and his hands came down to wrap around hers, where they clung to the chains on either side of her.

Summary: There was a large blanket pulled over their heads and their hands were intertwined beneath it as they secretly made their way through the front room of the flat toward the door.
Link: Rose’s booted feet clunked lightly against the carpet, and the Doctor’s trainers didn’t make a sound.


Title: Forever Stand Still

Summary: His eyes are dark and filled with sadness when she takes his hand and presses the cold round metal into his palm.
Link: This is where their new tradition begins.



Title: Lights of Blue Above
Rating: PG
Pairing: TenToo/Rose
Summary: His shoulder touched hers, and she could feel the nearness of him, but he did not reach out to take her hand again. There was a definite smile (and perhaps nervousness?) in his voice as he said, “All right, you can open your eyes now.”
Link: Holding her breath, she let her eyelashes flutter open. And she was stunned by what she saw.


Title: Of Tents, Marshmallows, and Snoring
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: TenToo/Rose
Summary: On the second night, Rose Tyler kissed him. It was shortly after he’d discovered she’d gone and used up all the marshmallows, holding up the empty bag accusingly at her.
Link: He’d tried to steal some out of her hot chocolate mug, which resulted in the drink spilling all over them and the marshmallows tumbling to the dirt—but not before he’d somehow managed to get some in his mouth, which was now covered with little smudges of chocolate and marshmallow. He looked positively delicious.


Title: I Hold Ashes in My Palms, and You Take My Hand
Rating: PG
Pairing: Ten/Rose
Summary: He doesn’t stop, doesn’t even so much as pause. His worn plimsolls kick up dust and death where it clings to the edges of his coat, and he swaggers through it all as if unaffected.
Link: In this moment, with tears on her face and dirt in her eyes and the dying behind her, she hates him.


Title: She Watched His Footprints Upon the Earth
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Ten/Rose
Summary: If she’d been paying enough attention, she would have noticed that none of it reached his eyes, that his smile was just a little dim, that he was holding her hand just a little too tightly. But she hadn’t seen them, had missed the warning signs completely.
Link: And even if she hadn’t, it never would’ve prepared her for what was coming.

Summary: It’s a place of wonder, and there she can forget what she is, the life she leads. And it’s worth all the beatings in the world—every single time.

Summary: This was their first time alone together since the night they’d spotted each other on that abandoned street beneath a starless sky.

Summary: Mickey couldn’t help the twinge inside him at seeing the Doctor take her hand...

Summary: Warm tears burned against her closed eyelids, and this time, she let them.

Link: She looked up at him in alarm as soon as he said it, but he knew the instant her eyes found him that she didn’t believe him.

Summary: The Doctor had come bouncing into her room, all smiles and glee, with breakfast made up on a tray. Breakfast in bed was the healthiest thing the world, he’d told her, and happily ate up nearly all of it himself.
